This was my second time in Philly this year. It’s a great city. I went earlier this year with my girl when we went to the Roots Picnic. It’s a music festival that’s put on by Philly’s own The Roots. This time around was different. This was Made In America. This is one music festival that I’ve always wanted to go to since forever. A music festival is not similar to an arena/stadium show. I tried to explain this to people especially my parents. There is no sitting unless you’re sitting on the ground or grass. There is no bathroom breaks unless you’re standing on line for 20mins waiting to use a porta-potty. There is no resting. Everybody there is running on adrenaline which makes a festival dope. Any attendee has the opportunity to be within arms reach of every performer which also makes a festival better. This is a platform for great well known artists, headliners/performers and some of musics best rising talent. With this being my first time, I tried my best to just enjoy each moment. Instead of constantly recording videos or taking pictures of each performance, I tried to sit there and enjoy the music and the vibes. I had the opportunity to watch live some of musics top artists in the industry right now like Travis Scott, ASAP Ferg, Collegrove (2 Chainz & Lil Wayne), Tory Lanez, DJ Khaled, Rihanna, Chance The Rapper and more. Being around thousands of people who are vibing and singing every word to every song from every performer is one experience that I don’t think can be put into words. This weekend was also a pre-BDay turn up for my girlfriend. Hence the word “pre”. We’re not done yet!
This was by far the greatest experience for me this year. Roots Picnic was a good vibe. That was actually my very first music festival ever. Made In America was Roots Picnic times 10. More people! More things to do! More drinking! More fun!
